Wild and Free

The journey began with Skyla and the ancient walking stick that Brian made as a boy with his Grandad (used to beat back the stinging nettles and thorny bushes).

Skyla picked a wildflower to put in her hair (she does this all the time and even got into a bit of trouble for taking the last bloom on a very small struggling flower plant in our front yard...), and gazed at the spider her dad pointed out along the way.

Picking blackberries in the wild is not difficult around these areas just near our house. It's not illegal, so we enjoyed a morning full of walking and picking, just the three of us.

One little surprise along the way we found....APPLES! A few secret apples hidden in the blackberry bushes made for an exciting idea....
A wild and free homemade Blackberry & Apple Pie!!! Made by yours truly with love, of course.

Brian asked me to put this on here:
"Could you write on there that Brian says YES it DOES taste as good as it looks!?"

Thank you Brian, my sweetie. Very flattering. I could tell he liked it by the moaning and grunting with which he disturbed our neighbors, though.
